DANCEmandala is a transformational movement practice that integrates meditative movement practice with free-form ecstatic dance. Through movement, music and gentle guided instruction, we put ourselves in motion and release any rigidity and tensions in our bodies. Through dance we are inspired to stretch and release the body, calm the mind, deepen self-awareness and cultivate our inner flow and connection with Life. This practice allows us to align with our inner rhythms and creativity, cultivating stillness, peace, patience and bliss. Moving the body with ease through the dance floor is also a great practice for moving effortlessly through life - regular practice of DANCEmandala will help you find your flow and hidden energy, allowing you to expand, explore and rejuvenate into a more spacious and vital being! The word DANCE in DANCEmandala refers to the creative life pulse that flows within and through each person's body, in rhythm with our heart's beat and the cosmic vibrations. 'Mandala' refers to the sacred space of our movement meditation and the layers and rhythms we pass through in approaching 'Oneness' or 'Union'. Each session last about 90 minutes, moving through a cycle of music designed to stimulate awareness of different aspects of our experience. The DANCEmandala facilitator provides some soft meditative guidance and suggestions throughout the practice. Your are always encouraged to follow your own intuition and inner rhythm. There are no steps or choreography - just your own movement, your own way. Reaching a meditative state within minutes into a DANCEmandala session is a is a common experience for many of our dancers. This becomes a space for self-understanding, healing and transformation, as the experience of body and mind moving more intimately and in new ways gives rise to clarity, insight and peace! |
